P.S. Now for something totally random, M1 has come down and installed their signal repeaters in the staffroom! We are transformed from a mobile desert into a signal paradise! So now I have a repeater right on top of my cubicle, full bar for my reception and loads of radiation to kill my brain cells. Yay!

I am listing out some of the interesting thing happening this June for people who are interested…

1. 31 May: MONTAGE Seminar organised by NUS Photographic Society.
   
   They have invited art photographer Chua Chye Teck, Very cool fashion photographer Skye Tan and well-known wedding photographer Kelvin Koh to give a talk about their works. Starts at 11am at the UCC Hall, NUS.
2. current: LEAP exhibition by Nanyang Academy of Fine Art Department of Fine Art and Department of Design and Media. They are showcasing their graduating works. From 10am - 8pm at Middle Road Campus.
3. current: SEEING. FEELING. BEING : ALBERTO GIACOMETTI.
   
   An exhibition in the Singapore Art Museum on the world renown sculptor Giacometti. Don’t miss. 10am - 7pm. On until 15 Jun.
4. 31 May: LIFE LINE. A photographic exhibition by Lim Su Fan on the power lines in our urban landscapes. Tea reception at 4pm with a talk by the photographer. 2902 Gallery at OLD SCHOOL, 11 Mount Sophia. Exhibition opens till 15 June.
5. 31 May: INTERNATIONAL MUSEUM DAY. All museums have free admission.
6. 12 Jun: LASALLE DEGREE SHOW 8.
   
   Go see the graduating works and marvel at their terrific new building. Opening ceremony at 8.30pm. Exhibits stay up till end of month.
7. 14 Jun: SINGAPORE ART STREET.
   
   A public street event for the Arts happening at Clarke Quay and Hougang simultaneously. On till Sunday 15 Jun.
8. 14 Jun: SHARAKU INTERPRETED BY JAPAN’S CONTEMPORARY ARTISTS.
   
   Exhibition at NAFA. Woodcut prints by Toshusai Sharaku, a ukiyo-e artist, are being reinterpreted by contemporary Japanese artists. 11am - 7pm. Opens until 12 July.
9. 21 Jun (2pm): GRAFFITI! at Lasalle Degree Show.
   
   ZERO (Zul Othman), a popular urban artist, will talk about his experience of practising graffiti art in Singapore. You can bring along a plain t-shirt for printing. Registration required.
10. 21 Jun: ALAIN FLEISCHER: TIME EXPOSURES.
    
    A photographic exhibition on the famous photographer, Alain Fleischer. 10am - 7pm. On until 3 August.

We will be having the first ever MGS Arts Festival coming this July so look out for it! There will be performances by all the different arts groups in MGS, including an art exhibition of all your works as well!
