Polaroid Printer!

Posted by kifo on October 30th, 2008

I just bought a new toy from eBay! A Fujifilm polaroid printer! I can print straight from my mobile just by connecting a USB cable, and the whole thing runs on battery. I am so going to bring this to Europe.

Praying for Time

Posted by kifo on October 26th, 2008

There has been a recent buzz on this song “Praying for Time” since Carrie Underwood sang it beautifully at Idol Brings Back 2008. I went to watch that video on Steph blog and I agree she did a very good job with it.

I remember this song very well because it is one of my favourite songs ever and it came out during the time I was in JC and I remembered it being very angsty and sad which suited me just perfectly during that time.

18 years have gone by and it is hard to be angsty and sad all the time. Plus the endless exposé on the lifestyle of George Micheal seems to have developed into a classic moral tale on the corruption of wealth and fame.

It is with some interest when I discovered that the original MTV for the song was this video which shows nothing at all. No George, no images, only the words of the lyrics. Apparently he refused to appear on the video for all the song from this album.

If you remember, this song came from his album “Listen with Prejudice“.

Spore is not science.

Spore

You may have heard of this new video game called Spore. Developed by the same people who created Sim City and all the Sim seriese, it is supposed to be a Sim Everything. The gameplay follows the evolution of a single-celled organism into intelligent and sentient species, and it eventual development into a powerful space-faring race.

The marketing campaign for the game heavily advertised that that game is based on science, and it is also being pushed to schools as such. A group of real scientists, including evolutionary biologist and space astrophysicist reviewed the game and gave it a pathetic flunking grade here. I looked at the score card it it basically looked like one of your report books result slip - full of Cs, Ds and Fs.

So don’t tell your parents you need to buy the game to brush up your science grade.
