Happy Retirement!

He is the chairman of Microsoft, the 3rd richest person in the world (estimated wealth of $58 billion), a philanthropist, and he was named one of the most influential people in the 20th century according to Times. Yet to some, he is one of the most hated person in the world.

During the landmark United States vs Microsoft case, I used to remember how I booed and jeered at everything uttered by Gates, his lame behavior in court, and their totally evil world-domination plans. Finally he is retiring.
Bill Gates
But I cannot deny that he has contributed immensely to the world we now live in. None of whatever I am doing now would have been possible if not for Microsoft. And now he is doing even greater good in charity work.

This post is for a sometimes flawed but still very great person.

Without Hot Air

I have been sharing this new book written by a Cambridge Physics professor with some people and I thought I plug it here as well. Professor David Mackay has been looking and studying the current hype on sustainable energy and putting his scientific skills to test out various suggestions that have been published in public. He has written an easily readable account of his calculations and research on his website http://www.withouthotair.com

The online PDF document is a huge 403 whopping pages and it is still a draft. However I have read bits of it and I can certainly recommend it.
