This movie is finally coming here. They are offering all teachersHODs and Principals a free screening! Not sure if I am going to watch it yet. Still, watching such a movie among teachers like yourself sound real weird. What do they think the teachers are going to say to one another when they walk out of the cinema? Haha.
1st Starry-eyed teacher: Wow I really love that show!
2nd Coolio teacher: Yeah man! It is such a awesome movie!
1st Starry-eyed teacher: I am so so moved by Hilary in the film. I want to be just like her.
2nd Coolio teacher: Exactly! I am so going to be a great teacher like her man!
1st Starry-eyed teacher: Yes. I believe we can make a difference!!!
On the other hand, I rather pay real money and watch Half Nelson. Even if I had to watch it with other teachers. At least we will have some real interesting thought-provoking conversation after the show.
P.S. Oh I read somewhere on the internet that Hilary Swank herself is a high school dropout. Ehhh? So much for authenticity claimed by the movie!!
I am so excited with my new purchase! This is probably the best digital photo management and processing software for the Windows PC at the moment. I have started using since Beta Version 2 and the last Beta Version 4 is expiring at the end of this month. I am glad there is finally an excellent program like this for the PC ever since Aperture for the Apple Macs came out in 2005. Although the Abobe Bridge software in Adobe CS 2 is a proven image management tool, and it has served me well before I started trying out the Lightroom betas, it is sorely lacking in areas of digital photography as it requires running a separate plugin - the Adobe Camera Raw to convert and edit any of the raw files. (If you camera allows you to take RAW files, you should try it out. It gives you so much more creativity and flexibility in the final image.) Lightroom removes this cumblesome two-step process and integrates them into a smooth and fast user interface which makes your digital workflow that much more streamlined. I am already using the beta version for my professional paid job as it is really that useful.
If you take lots of digital photographs like me and you need a nice program that will allow you to do some colour correction, cropping and touching up of the photos, download the 30 day trial and try it out.
