Jacen Tan of Tak Giu fame (Hosaywood.com)is coming out with a new movie, Zo Gang (hokkien for doing work, 做工). The trailer looks interesting.

His previous films are Zo Peng and the first movie, Tak Giu. If there are enough interested people who loves to know more about film making, I can try to arrange for him to come down.

Elite girl

Some of you might have heard of the recent brouhaha over a certain JC girl over some elitist remarks on her blog. The tiny incident generated tons of comments over the internet and the media and people are still talking about it now. In particular, Insane polygons has been drawing a series of comics inspired from the incident and this strip is really very very funny.

The Age of Ecological Terroism

There is a new frightening report out. Yes, scientists and researchers from several universities in US, UK, Sweden and Panama have predicted in a new report that all saltwater fishes will die out in 2048. Due to overfishing, pollution, habitat loss, and climate change, the marine population in our oceans is decreasing at a rapid rate and the biodiversity required for a healthy balance in the ecosystem is breaking down. They note that only 1% of the world’s oceans is effectively protected currently and they warned that the once our marine ecosystem is gone, there will be disastrous consequences for everyone.

So is this fact or hyperbole? Are we in a new age of ecological terrorism? Well one thing to me is clear, and it is that we as humans cannot go on living on this planet like that way we are doing now and pretend everything will be alright. Pretty soon I am sure we will all be paying for our environmental crimes.

P.S. Oh and in another report by the UN, the world’s CO2 emissions still continues to rise unabated. Welcome to Sauna Earth!
